Well...here we go into another school year. There are a lot of great things that I really enjoy about being a high school teacher. One of the best things is just ending....summer. Another thing is that every year brings a new beginning, new challenges..new faces..new rewards.
This year I want to decease the technology gap between my students and I.That is one of the purposes of this blog. From time to time, I am sure that I will feel that it is an impossible gap to overcome..after all, I used to use a typewriter for my term papers in college....with the correctional tape.. but I will press on..after all, that is what I expect my students to do in my classroom.
I am sitting in front of the TV watching the Little League World Series. This is something I like to do every year, even though it is one of the things that signals the end of the summer. This event reminds me of so many things. Playing baseball as a kid. One of my wives favorite pictures of me is the team photo of my little league team when I was about 10 years old. I played for the Twins..I was a pitcher and remember getting smacked in the head with a catchers mask as we were both trying to catch a pop up..maybe that explains a lot..It also reminds me of the thousands of hours I played catch with my Pop in the back yard..getting a little misty here so I guess that's enough for now...

ReplyDeleteClick on m info and you can see my blog...I started it over the summer and I've gotten away from it as I went on vacation and things got crazy at the end of summer school.
Oh NO! You took it back to correctional tape!! I didn't really start using a computer until my sophomore year in college ... so don't feel too old - I learned to type on a manual typewriter!!
