Another New Beginning

Well....the last day before another school year begins. I am really excited about the classes I am teaching this year. The kids in my AP US History class last year did great on their AP Exam..hope they feel the work they put into it was worth it. I picked up a new AP Class this year..we are offering AP Government for the first time. That should be interesting.

This has been a great summer...maybe the best summer I have enjoyed in a long time. Maybe that is one reason I am looking forward to the new year at school.. I did a lot of reading and some traveling...just some quick observations...San Antonio is realllly hot, but the Riverwalk was awesome. If you have never read.. or even heard of Blood Done Sign My Name by Tim Tyson...it is a great book. It deals with racial issues in the South, primarily during the 1970's, but goes far beyond that.

The first couple of years that I was teaching, I would have a dream at the end of the summer. It was always the same..I would be standing in front of my class on the first day of school and would realize that I have forgotten how to teach... and the kids think they are the only ones who get a little anxious about the first day of school..
